Dr Khalid Alzahed received his Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering in 1999 followed by his Bachelor Degree in Engineering Management in 2001 from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Dubai, UAE. In 2003, Dr Alzahed graduated with a Master’s Degree in Coastal Engineering from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and he obtained a PHD in Coastal Engineering and Marine Environment from St Andrews University in Scotland in 2007.
Dr Alzahed started his career as an engineer in Dubai Municipality in 2000 which led him to the position of Head of Marine Works Unit in 2001 and then the Head of the Coastal Management section. In 2005, he was appointed the Director of Marine Projects in the Roads and Transport Authority, where he became the Director of Development and Corporate Performance in 2012. Recently, Dr Alzahed served as CEO of the Strategy and Development Sector at Dubai’s Crown Prince Office. Additionally, he has held positions in highly ranked committees and associations in Dubai, serving as the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Al Jalila Foundation, Vice President of WPPA and President of the World Interferry.
